Transferring credits in District of Columbia

Students selected for the OSSE Consortium pay nothing: OSSE pays tuition and books directly for up to two 3-credit courses per semester, subject to funding availability. The zero cost applies ONLY to students admitted to the Consortium Program at a participating institution; a DC student who enrolls at a college outside the Consortium pays that college's regular rate. Note: DCPS states that for SY 2026-27 the award is limited to one 3-credit course per semester with no 4-credit or multiple courses, so the practical per-semester cap may be 3 credits rather than 6.

Who can enroll. Students must be enrolled in an eligible District of Columbia public or public charter school and pursuing a high school diploma or GED (DCPS materials describe it as open to grade-level-eligible students, generally grades 10-12). Each participating college sets its own minimum GPA and grade-level requirement; the University of the District of Columbia is the only participating institution with no minimum GPA. Covers only the consortium institutions (UDC, Trinity Washington, American University School of Education, Bard, Bay Atlantic, Bowie State, George Mason, Marymount, Montgomery College, NOVA, Prince George's CC, Virginia State).
