GetInto.College started with two parents and one hard question: which college is actually right for my kid, and can I trust what I'm being told?

HOW WE GOT HERE

  1. 2020

    In the spring of 2020, Anthony Veri Jr's child was a high school junior when COVID-19 shut the world down. The college search should have been the exciting part. Instead it was a fog of questions no one could answer. Which schools would actually hold classes in person? If the pandemic came back or got worse, what was each school's plan? Which colleges were genuinely built for online learning, remote test-taking, and group projects, and which were improvising week to week? Campus visits were gone, admissions offices were overwhelmed, and a straight answer was almost impossible to get. They graduated in 2021 having navigated most of it in the dark.

  2. Today

    Krishna Malyala is living the other end of it right now, with a child who is a high school senior today. The pandemic questions have faded, but the maze has not: too many choices, a "real cost" nobody states plainly, AP credit rules that change from school to school, and deadlines scattered across a dozen portals.

Krishna was the first to say it out loud, and the first to act on it: the information families need already exists. It is just buried, inconsistent, and hard to trust. Together we set out to build the platform we wish we'd had: every college in one pane of glass, a true apples-to-apples comparison, and numbers you can actually rely on, drawn from public federal data. Add the resources, tools, tips, and reminders that keep a family on track, and the fog lifts.

We do not license third-party “ratings.” Every statistic on this site traces to a primary government dataset or an official program page, loaded onto our own servers and refreshed on a schedule.

College Scorecard (U.S. Dept. of Education)

Admissions, cost, net price by income, debt, and earnings outcomes for 6,318 degree-granting institutions.

NCES Private School Universe Survey

22,345 private K-12 schools: enrollment, grades served, student-teacher ratios, affiliation.

EADA (Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act)

Athletic participation, aggregate aid totals, and team counts as filed by 2,000+ colleges, not per-student award amounts.

EDITORIAL STANDARDS

  • Rankings state their formula. If we weight something, the methodology says so on the page.
  • Data Grades: Value = median earnings 10 years after entry divided by average net price (A+ ≥ 4.5x down to D < 1.3x). Outcomes = graduation rate × 0.6 + retention rate × 0.4 (A+ ≥ 92%), demoted one step when the loan-default rate exceeds 8%. Computed from College Scorecard only, no surveys, no pay-for-placement.
  • Data limitations are disclosed inline. For example, athletic aid is reported by schools as men's/women's totals, so we never invent per-sport dollar figures.
  • No school pays for placement. Nobody can buy a better position in any list.
  • Blog guides are reviewed by a human before publishing, including the ones drafted with AI assistance.
  • Corrections: email customercare@getinto.college and we fix verified errors within 48 hours.

ATHLETICS AND ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS

GetInto.College combines official and institution-published sources where available: EADA participation, team and aggregate aid filings; NCAA division, conference, sport sponsorship and eligibility information; NAIA and NJCAA program information where available; university athletic department pages; published roster limits; institution-published scholarship and recruiting information; and sport-specific outside scholarships. We clearly distinguish among: (1) the college sponsors the sport, (2) athletic aid is offered at the institution in aggregate, (3) the sport may be an equivalency or head-count sport under NCAA rules, (4) the student appears potentially eligible given profile data, and (5) the student has received an actual scholarship offer (only if reported to us, never invented).

EADA does not generally support precise per-student or per-sport scholarship-dollar claims. We do not invent those values.
