About CertiHomes Education
CertiHomes Education is built by CertiHomes LLC — the “Know Before You Owe” company. We started in real estate, helping families see the true cost of a home before committing. College is the same decision with worse disclosure: a six-figure purchase most families make once, with marketing where the data should be. This platform puts the data first.
The site is run by Krishna Malyala (NMLS #1875937), a technologist and licensed broker, with college counselors in the CertiHomes network handling 1:1 guidance for College Plan families.
Where every number comes from
We do not license third-party “ratings.” Every statistic on this site traces to a primary government dataset or an official program page, loaded onto our own servers and refreshed on a schedule:

Editorial standards
- Rankings state their formula. If we weight something, the methodology says so on the page.
- Data Grades: Value = median earnings 10 years after entry divided by average net price (A+ ≥ 4.5x down to D < 1.3x). Outcomes = graduation rate × 0.6 + retention rate × 0.4 (A+ ≥ 92%), demoted one step when the loan-default rate exceeds 8%. Computed from College Scorecard only — no surveys, no pay-for-placement.
- Data limitations are disclosed inline — e.g., athletic aid is reported by schools as men's/women's totals, so we never invent per-sport dollar figures.
- No school pays for placement. Nobody can buy a better position in any list.
- Blog guides are reviewed by a human before publishing — including the ones drafted with AI assistance.
- Corrections: email krishna@certihomes.com and we fix verified errors within 48 hours.
Athletics and athletic scholarships
CertiHomes combines official and institution-published sources where available: EADA participation, team and aggregate aid filings; NCAA division, conference, sport sponsorship and eligibility information; NAIA and NJCAA program information where available; university athletic department pages; published roster limits; institution-published scholarship and recruiting information; and sport-specific outside scholarships. We clearly distinguish among: (1) the college sponsors the sport, (2) athletic aid is offered at the institution in aggregate, (3) the sport may be an equivalency or head-count sport under NCAA rules, (4) the student appears potentially eligible based on profile data, and (5) the student has received an actual scholarship offer (only if reported to us — never invented).
EADA does not generally support precise per-student or per-sport scholarship-dollar claims. We do not invent those values.
