TSAC pays the college directly. For a student's first five dual enrollment courses the award equals the cost of tuition plus a 5% access fee set by the TN Board of Regents FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGES, so at a community college or TCAT the first five courses are effectively $0 to the family; at a four-year institution whose tuition exceeds the community-college rate the family owes the difference. Courses six through ten are covered only at $100 per credit hour (max $600 per course), so the family pays any remaining tuition. Books, transportation and non-tuition fees are not covered.

Who can enroll. Must be a Tennessee resident as classified by the Tennessee Board of Regents, meet the institution's admission requirements, and be a high school junior or senior to use the grant at a two-year or four-year institution (freshman or higher at a TN College of Applied Technology). A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA on all postsecondary courses attempted under the grant must be maintained; eligibility ends when high school graduation requirements are met. Covers eligible Tennessee postsecondary institutions (public two-year, four-year, TCATs, and approved private institutions).
