Arizona law sets NO statewide price and NO statewide waiver. The statute requires each community college district and each school district/charter to sign an intergovernmental agreement that must state how college tuition is paid on behalf of the student and whether the college awards scholarships or grants to dual enrollment students, so what a family pays depends entirely on the local agreement. In practice this ranges from $0 (some districts and colleges absorb the cost) to the college's published dual enrollment rate; no verifiable statewide dollar figure exists, so cost fields are null.
Who can enroll. Students must be high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors, must satisfy the published college course prerequisites and comply with the college's placement policies, and must be enrolled full time in a high school program (seniors finishing graduation requirements part time are exempt); homeschooled students may fully participate. Courses must be above the level taught by the high school and transferable to an Arizona Board of Regents university or applicable to a community college occupational degree/certificate; physical education is excluded. Scope: Arizona public community college districts offering courses at the high school during the school day.
