Some campuses may still charge a nominal admission fee (the page's example is $25), which may be waived. Books, supplies and transportation are not automatically covered, though financially qualifying students may receive additional assistance; funding is capped by the annual state appropriation so a free seat is not guaranteed.
Who can enroll. Must be a Massachusetts resident enrolled in a Massachusetts public secondary school or nonpublic school (including home school), not already holding a GED or high school diploma, and must meet all course prerequisites set by the participating campus. Courses are offered by most Massachusetts community colleges, state universities and undergraduate UMass campuses only; participation is at the discretion of the campus and subject to capacity and state appropriation.
